Participants from the EuroTech Universities Technology Transfer offices met in Brussels on 16 September to exchange best practice on financing startups and spinoffs.
The EuroTech Universities generate the basis for several new high-tech startups. Between them, they produced nearly 450 start-ups in the period 2006-2013.
While the potential supply of innovative technologies with market potential from across the EuroTech Universities is very high, the availability of finance to support those good ideas is limited.
The workshop participants exchanged their experiences on financing startups and also met with representatives of the European Commission and European Investment Bank to discuss the EU’s new innovative financial instruments in the pipeline.
