Hosted by Angelika Niebler, MEP, the EuroTech breakfast debate will take place on 30 May 2017, 08.00 – 09.30, in the European Parliament.
2017 represents a vital year for defining the European Union‘s future investment priorities. This event will foster discussion on why investment in collaborative research and innovation on urban mobility challenges will be vital to achieve the European goals in smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. Among others, the debate will focus around some of the future challenges faced in our cities:
- How can decision-makers embrace the emerging bright ideas from university labs and dynamic startups to make our cities less congested?
- When Europe’s goals to reduce car emissions and to effectively regulate self-driving cars are reached, what are the next issues that will need to be tackled to ensure Europe’s cities are still liveable in 2050?
- How can political leaders lay the ground for improved urban transport systems and make urban space cleaner, greener and more accessible?
