EPFL hosts UNESCO Conference on Technologies for Development

The UNESCO Conference on Technologies for Development is taking place from 2-4 May 2016 at the Swiss Tech Convention Center on the campus of EuroTech university EPF Lausanne.

The Conference Technologies for Development: From Innovation to Social Impact focuses on the following fields:

  • Technologies for Humanitarian Action
  • Sustainable Access to Energy
  • ICT for Development
  • Disaster Risk Reduction
  • Urban Development
  • Medical Technologies

70 papers will be presented in 24 sessions which will be attended by around 350 participants from 60 countries. The Conference will bring together researchers, decision-makers, representatives from NGOs and international organizations, and the private sector with the common aim to generate knowledge focusing on innovative technologies and their potential for the global South.

On 7-8 September 2015, the EuroTech Universities Brussels Office hosted the first EuroTech Universities Workshop on Innovation & Technologies for Development.
