This event is open to staff and start-ups of the six EuroTech partner universities only
Date and time: 28 October 2020, 10:00-12:00
This webinar is organised by the EuroTech Universities Alliance Brussels office to inform about the upcoming calls within the European Innovation Council (EIC). The 1.5-hour webinar will give an overview of the different opportunities and singularities of this new funding mechanism within Horizon Europe. After a general introduction to the EIC, the audience will be split in three breakout sessions according to their interest. The breakout sessions will cover
1) the ‘EIC Pathfinder’, which supports early-stage development of future technologies, based on high-risk/high-gain science-towards-technology breakthrough research (‘deep-tech’). The EIC Pathfinder especially invites ERC PoC grantees to apply for follow-up funding.
2) the ‘EIC Accelerator’ that supports companies (principally start-ups and small and medium-sized enterprises – SMEs) to scale up high-impact innovations with the potential to create new markets or disrupt existing ones
3) the ‘European Innovation Ecosystems’ funding instrument supporting institutions and incubators/accelerators that facilitate science-based innovation and entrepreneurship.
Dedicated speakers from the European Commission’s responsible unit within DG RTD will give a presentation on the different funding instruments followed by a Q&A session.
