In 2020, researchers of the EuroTech Universities unanimously agreed on intensifying their collaboration in the field of Space & Earth Observation, involving all six EuroTech Universities and forming a central topic within the Focus Area Sustainable Society. Even though the working group is still quite new, the members already identified a few signature activities in the years to come such as organising summer/winter schools, a student space summit, a space innovation hackathon as well as new student exchange programmes.
Covering scientific fields like satellite and sensor networks, big data and remote sensing, and cube seats for Earth and space observation, the group wants to cover questions like societally relevant and responsible innovation, questions of IP or new educational formats.
