DTU Electro, DTU Entrepreneurship and the BioInnovation Institute (BII) are once again joining forces to offer the PhD course Entrepreneurship in Technical Science, taking place from 17–22 August 2026 in Helsingør, Denmark.
The six-day course introduces PhD students, researchers, postdoctoral researchers and professionals to practical methods for exploring the application and commercialisation potential of research in the natural and technical sciences. Participants gain insight into how scientific discoveries and technological innovations can be evaluated and developed with regard to intellectual property, technology transfer, market needs, funding pathways and societal impact.
Throughout the programme, participants work with their own research, an early-stage innovation or a course-provided case, while developing practical skills in business modelling, market analysis, customer value creation, venture financing and science communication.
The programme combines expert lectures, interdisciplinary teamwork, mentoring from experienced business professionals and inspiring talks by successful technology entrepreneurs, equipping participants with practical tools to assess and communicate the value of research beyond academia.
