GRIFIN – Thesis proposal #2 on Cognitive and Programmable Response

This thesis proposes a cognitive approach to recovering from network incidents or attacks in a future network context. Supervision will be shared between the R3S team at SAMOVAR (Télécom SudParis, IP Paris), the NPA team at LIP6 (Sorbonne Université, CNRS) and LORIA (Université de Lorraine, Inria, CNRS).

CERES – Thesis proposal #1 on Security Modelization and Assessment

The objective of this thesis is two-fold: i) propose ways to accurately model a process, a function, a system, and a system of systems, as well as the security threats and remediations that apply to them, so that operators can gain different levels of insights and interact with it, with increasing levels of realism; ii) design methodologies to assess the system under test’s security or resilience to threats, in the presence or absence of remediations, with fine control over the inputs and conditions of the assessment environment, including metrics, probes, injection points, datasets (both legitimate and malicious activities).

Institut Polytechnique de Paris is offering a PhD thesis project:

CERES – Thesis proposal #2 on Digital Twin for Building Security Management Systems

The thesis will study and develop safety and cybersecurity interactions and the modelization of information and physical systems. The resulting platform will enable to run digital twins in a co-simulation mode first, where the heavier physical subsystems are replaced by simulations. In a second stage, the thesis will deepen the interactions between different scientific domains such as IoT and Machine Learning to automate the acquisition and processing of data from heterogeneous sources and feed the digital twin information system.
