Chips for Europe: OMEGA – Microelectronics Center

28 April 2022 | Bringing world-leading research together with commercialisation of the results on the one hand side and education of future engineers on the other: That’s the strength of universities like École Polytechnique in Paris, and an indispensable asset in achieving more strategic autonomy from non-European players. The current shortage of semiconductor chips and geopolitical situation show how important the latter is. Together with CNRS, École Polytechnique has set up the microelectronics design centre OMEGA, which is highly specialised in the design of dedicated integrated circuits.

Another great example of how innovation and education can go hand in hand. Learn more about OMEGA in this video and also on Thursday, 5 May 2022, 15:00-16:30 CET, at our EuroTech Policy Deep Dive “Chips for Europe: Capitalising on our strengths in semiconductor innovation and skills”. The event will be held fully virtually and be livestreamed to Youtube.
