R&I Focus Areas

Together, the six EuroTech Universities cover the whole range of technical disciplines and many more. As an alliance, we focus our core collaboration on research, innovation, and education in five fast developing areas. These EuroTech Focus Areas are both of crucial importance to Europe’s industry and society and of strategic interest to all our universities.

The six EuroTech Universities are part of the world’s most prestigious universities, be it in terms of outstanding research activities with high societal impact, collaborating with industry, or educating the engineers of tomorrow. Our guide star are the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals. All our Focus Areas contribute to several of these 17 goals and therefore to fulfilling the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Additive Manufacturing

We bundle expertise around Industry 4.0, covering aspects such as automation, simulation, 3D printing and new materials.

AI for Engineering Systems

We apply artificial intelligence for solving societal challenges. Topics include machine learning, computer vision, robotics, and math.

Health & Bioengineering

We cover a wide range of aspects between patient care, medical applications and bioengineering for improved treatment.

Sustainable Society

We have joined our efforts in multiple, interdisciplinary topics such as energy, smart mobility, circular economy, and more.

Entrepreneurship & Innovation

We set the bar higher than others by not only inventing new solutions to societal problems but also deploying them on the global market.
