The Technical University of Denmark (DTU) is hosting a conference on 5 March 2026 in Brussels, presenting the upcoming report From Strategy to Action – Closing the European Innovation and Technology Gap. The report outlines actionable recommendations for implementing the EU Startup and Scaleup Strategy, at the same time highlighting the role of universities in enhancing European competitiveness and achieving technological autonomy.
Universities, as engines of invention, talent development, and deep-tech innovation, form the backbone of Europe’s technological leadership. By fostering closer integration, universities can accelerate the translation of research excellence into industrial capability, support the growth of start-ups and scale-ups, and strengthen Europe’s innovation ecosystems in strategic sectors.
