27 September 2018 | A new entrepreneurship centre at Technical University of Denmark (DTU) will help (aspiring) engineers to better understand the interplay between technology and new business models. It will also support viable high-tech companies in adapting to rapidly changing markets.
According to an analysis of entrepreneurship at DTU conducted by IRIS Consulting Group, DTU has one of the largest and most well-developed ecosystems for entrepreneurship among technical universities in Europe. In the period 1999-2017, DTU fostered approximately 2,200 businesses.
“Future researchers predict that half of Denmark’s jobs in 20 years will be found in new businesses, and we want to be the driving force and key player behind the creation of many of them. If we support our start-ups with the academic and professional knowledge, they are more likely to contribute to society in the future,” says DTU President Anders Bjarklev about the rationale for the new centre.
