15 May 2024 | Together with further research and education organisations, we have launched the “Research Matters” campaign, with the mission to mobilise and unite the European research and innovation community and jointly advocate for increased investment in R&I.
The campaign seeks to stress the importance of research in shaping our collective future and addressing global challenges. We aim to reach decision-makers, stakeholders across various sectors, media, and citizens at local, national, and European levels.
We call for:
- Increased funding for research and development and over 3% of GDP in EU and all European countries
- Doubling the budget for the EU’s next research and innovation programme (FP10)
The campaign is an initiative of EUPRIO (European Association of Communication Professionals in Higher Education) in collaboration with CESAER, Coimbra Group, EASSH (European Alliance for Social Sciences and Humanities), European University Association, EuroTech Universities Alliance, EU-LIFE, The Guild of European Research-Intensive Universities, LERU (League of European Research Universities), Science Europe, UnILiON (Universities Informal Liaison Offices Network), YERUN (Young European Research Universities), and University of Bergen.
Now more than ever, research and innovation are essential to tackling the pressing issues facing our world. By coming together under the Research Matters campaign, we are committed to strengthening our collective voice and driving real change.
We hope to collaborate with even more European universities, research organisations, funding agencies, industry partners, and communication professionals across Europe.
Join us in this vital initiative.
