TU/e entrepreneur wins pitch competition at 5th edition of EuroTech’s Venture Programme

10 September 2019 | This summer, EuroTech’s European Venture Programme took place for the fifth time. The programme allows twenty young tech entrepreneurs to travel to four innovation ecosystems – Munich, Lausanne, Copenhagen and Eindhoven – to gain entrepreneurial skills and access to experts and investors. This year, Ayushman Talwar from Hable Accessibility  succeeded in the programme’s highlight, the final pitching competition. Hable developed a solution that allows blind people to make better use of their smartphones.

EVP is a unique international extracurricular entrepreneurship education programme for academic start-ups in an early stage. Originally funded under Erasmus+ and subsequently turned into a sustainable feature of Alliance collaboration, the programme has been very well perceived by the participants and the European Community alike. It will have more than 100 alumni after the 2019 edition.

“Most engineers have mastered the technical development of a product. The programme is intended to further develop other aspects of entrepreneurship,” explains Steven van Huiden, coordinator of the programme in Eindhoven. For example, the programme focuses on the value proposition, marketing, sales and finance. In this way, entrepreneurs gain more knowledge and immediately learn to think internationally”, which is a core objective and cornerstone of EuroTech’s Education strategy.
