We’re hiring: DTU Liaison Officer

13 October 2025 | We are hiring a full-time Liaison Officer to represent the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) in the EuroTech Universities Alliance. As DTU Liaison Officer, you will be based in the EuroTech office in Brussels. In your role, you will represent DTU within joint EuroTech activities and strengthen DTU’s own network and initiatives in Brussels. You will work closely with the EuroTech Secretary General to reinforce multilateral Alliance activities, and with DTU’s Office for Research, Advice and Innovation with specialist insights into European Affairs and technology research and innovation.

About the DTU Liaison Officer role

Tasks & responsibilities:
  • Represent DTU in the EuroTech Universities Alliance, contributing to the development and delivery of the Brussels Office roadmap and cooperating with the EuroTech team on joint initiatives
  • Contribute to political outreach and advocacy efforts, including through policy dialogues and the development of policy reports and papers for the strategic positioning of DTU and EuroTech in Brussels
  • Serve as an adviser on EU policy, with a particular focus on research, education, and innovation agendas, and provide strategic intelligence and policy monitoring on EU-level developments 
  • Manage relationships, on behalf of DTU as well as EuroTech, with the European Commission, the European Parliament and other stakeholders in the European Union’s higher education, research and innovation landscape
  • Lead and develop EuroTech activities within specific topics, initiatives and Focus Areas under DTU leadership 
  • Organise and contribute to joint workshops, webinars, roundtables, and networking events 
  • Support DTU’s European initiatives and visiting delegations in Brussels 
  • Monitor, evaluate, and report on activities for EuroTech stakeholders and DTU leadership, faculty, and staff 
  • Support the development of institutional partnerships between DTU and EuroTech member universities
Your profile:
  • At least a master’s degree (or equivalent)
  • Excellent written and spoken English is required; knowledge of Danish is an asset
  • Solid understanding of European funding mechanisms (e.g. Horizon Europe, Erasmus+), policy initiatives, and institutions
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in a European or international setting, preferably in research, higher education, public affairs, or EU project development 
  • Strong communication and networking skills across cultures and professional hierarchies
  • Flexibility, proactivity, and the ability to work independently with a hands-on approach as well as within physical, virtual and hybrid team settings 
  • Strategic competencies, result-oriented working methods, high efficiency and attention to detail, sense of responsibility 
  • Regular business trips within Europe are part of the role 
  • Advanced knowledge of standard office software
  • Legal entitlement to work in the European Union

Please note: you will be employed by the EuroTech Universities Alliance, organised as an Association internationale sans but lucratif (AISBL) under Belgian law. While we expect you to work on-site in Brussels, remote work on individual days is possible. You will also be required to travel regularly to DTU in Lyngby (Copenhagen area). We expect the first round of interviews to take place online in the first half of November with a second round of interviews for select candidates mid-November in Brussels. We hope that the successful candidate will assume their new role as DTU Liaison Officer in December 2025.
