About the Senior Policy and Strategic Communications Manager role
- Drive some of the Alliance’s joint initiatives in areas of strategic importance, including several working groups, EuroTech programmes, and science-for-policy outreach of our EuroTech research & technology areas and funded policy projects (incl. through reports and project outputs); and explore new opportunities for the Alliance together with the Secretary General
- Manage and strengthen relationships with EU institutions, Brussels-based stakeholders, and relevant organisations across the R&I stakeholder communities; participate in relevant meetings, workshops and events on behalf of the Alliance
- Coordinate the monitoring of European and international developments in research, education, and innovation policy to provide intelligence and expertise in areas of strategic interest to the Alliance
- Lead the development and implementation of the Alliance’s strategic communications, manage and coordinate internal and external communications, including content for the website, social media, newsletters, and press releases; coordinate the working group of universities’ spokespersons
- Manage media relations and public appearances for Alliance leadership, ensuring consistent and impactful messaging
- Conceptualise and plan high-profile events, workshops, roundtables, and flagship initiatives for the Alliance
- Contribute to the Alliance’s governance meeting preparation and AISBL management, together with the Secretary General
- Contribute actively to the EuroTech Strategy 2030 implementation plan and the teamwork in the Brussels Office
- A master’s degree in a relevant field
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in a similar position, with at least 3 years in an EU context
- Strong affinity with science and technology fields (e.g., AI, advanced materials, biotech, energy systems, quantum, semiconductors, robotics, etc.), as well as research, innovation, and education policy
- Excellent analytical, writing and communication skills, including the ability to write clear and concise papers and reports and deliver engaging presentations
- Excellent command of spoken and written English is essential (native level) and fluency in other European languages is considered an asset
- Excellent organisational skills, an eye for detail, and ability to deliver tasks under tight deadlines, with a problem-solving mindset
- Self-starter mentality with enthusiasm for working independently on a variety of tasks
- Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative mindset, ability to connect with people and work as integral part of a team
- IT literacy, with excellent command of MS Office, as well as WordPress and e-mail marketing systems, and command of Adobe Creative Cloud programmes (Photoshop, InDesign) or similar software is a strong advantage
- Experience with EU-funded projects and proposals is a strong advantage (Horizon Europe, tenders)
- Legal entitlement to work in the European Union

We expect the first round of interviews to take place online in the first half of November with a second round of interviews for select candidates mid-November in Brussels. We hope that the successful candidate will assume their new role by December 2025.
