The Research Security Working Group focuses on the growing importance of research security in today’s geopolitical context. It provides a platform for exchanging information on emerging risks, policy developments, and the implications for international cooperation in research and innovation. Research security guidelines at the EU and national levels are relatively recent and continue to evolve, often varying significantly across countries.

The group plays a key role in fostering collaboration among trusted partners, enabling members to compare approaches and discuss practical challenges related to implementing these frameworks within university settings. The group meets at least once per year in person and holds regular online exchanges to discuss policy developments, including updates to EU and national guidelines and institutional responses.
