10 ERC Consolidator Grants for EuroTech researchers

23 November 2023 | Ten of this year’s prestigious ERC Consolidator Grants go to mid-career researchers affiliated with one of our universities. Congratulations! The grantees were selected out of 2,130 candidates and will receive up to €2 million for a period of 5 years. This funding of the European Research Council supports excellent scientists and scholars at a career stage where they may still be consolidating their own independent research teams to pursue their most promising scientific ideas.

Due to the non-association of Switzerland to Horizon Europe, EPFL-affiliated researchers were not eligible for funding.

We wholeheartedly congratulate all laureates, especially:

  • Victoria Antoci, DTU (MAGNIFY: The Quest for MAGNetIc Fields in A and F TYpe Stars; PE9)
  • Job Boekhoven, TUM (SynLife: Synthetic Life from the bottom up; PE5)
  • Joao Manuel Do Carmo Fialho Mendonca, DTU (Foundation: Building Virtual Worlds that Follow Universal Laws of Physics; PE9)
  • Karl Duderstadt, TUM (ChromoMemInMotion: Recreating molecular memories: imaging the mechanics of chromosome assembly and the birth of cell identity; LS1)
  • Julia Herzen, TUM (DEPICT: Material Decomposition in X-ray Phase-Contrast Imaging with Coherent Sources; PE3)
  • Ido Kaminer, Technion (QUIN-PINEM: Quantum Interactions in Photon-Induced Nearfield Electron Microscopy; PE2)
  • Ziwei Ouyang, DTU (H3PMAG: Advanced Magnetic Components for High-Efficiency and High-Power-Density Converters; PE7)
  • Klaas-Jan Tielrooij, TU/e (EQUATE: Engineering QUAntum materials for TErahertz applications; PE7)
  • Aida Todri-Sanial, TU/e (THERMODON: Thermodynamic-inspired computing with oscillatory neural networks; PE6)
