In 2020, several researchers from the EuroTech Universities submitted a joint Horizon 2020 proposal in the field of circular economy. This experience created strong links amongst the participants and they expressed their interest to deepen their collaboration under the Alliance umbrella.
In 2021, the Working Group naturally integrated the new Focus Area “Sustainable Society”, where its members can exchange and develop new collaborative activities in research and education, with researchers from different backgrounds, such as economy and life-cycle assessment but also with more technical expertise in areas relevant for circular economy researchers (energy, climate, raw materials, etc.).
