The Working Group of Graduate Deans serves as a strategic platform for the leaders of the six EuroTech graduate schools, aiming to synchronise doctoral education and create a seamless European ecosystem for early-stage researchers. By pooling the expertise of Graduate Deans and senior managers, the group fosters research mobility through schemes that encourage extended research stays for doctoral candidates across partner universities.

It supports joint educational formats such as summer and winter schools to promote cross-university learning in both technical and interdisciplinary areas. The WG strengthens supervision by implementing a formal agreement for the joint supervision of doctoral candidates, a framework endorsed by the EuroTech Presidents to facilitate deep academic collaboration. It also creates dedicated platforms for doctoral candidates to build professional networks across the six research cultures, while collaborating on improving the European framework for PhDs to ensure high standards in training and career development.
